Fanart by Me

This is some of the fanart done by yours truly, the owner of this site. The most recent work is at the top and the stuff at the bottom quite frankly is scary. However I keep them up to show the learning process I'm going through. Hope you like!

I had only tried to draw a freehand picture of Kenshin once before (see below) and it didn't turn out so hot, so I was really happy with how this picture turned out (It shows that I've actually improved!). This was colored with pencils and prismacolor markers.

Chibi Misao! I started drawing this over two years ago when I was waiting for a plane at Honolulu airport. I didn't bother finishing it for the longest time, but I thought why not finish it? In the end it turned out exactly how I wanted it to.

There is a REALLY long story behind this picture, but I won't bore you with it. This is my first Sano fan art. I looked at bunch of manga pictures to come up with my own original drawing.

I had read in one of those "How to Draw Manga" books that many popular manga artists sometimes copy their poses from photographs. So I used the cover of a book about kimonos as a reference and drew this picture of Kaoru. The coloring for this one was done w/ both colored pencils and prismacolor markers. The only problem that I have w/ this picture is that I forgot to draw some ears (whoops). We can just pretend that her hair is covering them ^_~x.

My first non-original fan art in a while. I treated this drawing as an exercise to try and imitate Watsuki's style of art as best I could. I actualy think that I did a pretty nice job.

This was a fan art of Kaoru with her hair in a braid that I had done a while ago but had completely forgotten to post. I think of all of my drawings this one came out the best. The only part of it that I really don't like is the fact that I did the mouth too small.

Megumi was the first time that I ever really tried to draw someone w/ small eyes - and I still ended up making them too big. The coloring with the hair is really funky in this one. I really need to buy one of those "how to draw manga" books and learn how to do clothing and add depth and shadow.

You have to draw Misao's hair in a certain shape in order for it to even look remotely like her in the end, so I looked at her hair in a lot of different pictures for reference. I accidently colored her outfit with the wrong colors, so I had to go back and redo it. The mouth gave me the most trouble since I screwed up coloring it as well but I couldn't erase it. In the end I glued a small piece of paper on top to cover it up. All in all, Misao looks a little crazy in this one.

My first attempt at using color. I screwed up coloring the hair so I had to erase it and draw it again. I rather liked this one until I actually scanned it and saw how abnormally large Kenshin's eyes seemed to look. Oh well...

This was one of my first attempts at fan art ever, and you can definately tell which picture I was looking at when I did it. Since I drew the whole thing a little funny and off scale it was necessary to draw a mouth. Even though it's just one line, it took me forever to draw. It looked so weird, so I kept redoing it until it was acceptable.

Another picture of Kaoru as you can see. This was the first time that I drew fan art without looking at any one picture. I'm not really happy about the fact that I didn't add any shadow or depth to it, but I didn't want to risk screwing it up even more.
